What Do You Believe About Change?

Everyone has the ability to change thought patterns and belief systems. This is incredibly freeing to realize because it means that no person is a victim, except of their old, outdated beliefs. It doesn’t matter how young or old you are, the mind is like a sponge. It absorbs the predominant thoughts and emotions and manifests them in your experience.

If you want to change, the first thing you have to do is believe something different. This can start with believing in your own capacity to change.

As human beings we make up to 20,000 choices per day, most of which are made ly. This means that most of our choices are made without our awareness. This also means that at the start of a new day we have the powerful capacity to make brand new choices. No one is haunted by the past without it being a choice.

However, many people give up too quickly on change or switch back to old thought patterns. They don’t see results, so they feel they are powerless. This couldn’t be any further from the truth. Anyone can change, as long as they aren’t pushing against it. Sometimes, this starts with examining what is believed about change.

For example, consider these questions:

  • Do you believe you have control over what happens in your life or do you settle for whatever junk comes your way?
  • Does change make you feel foolish, hurt, frustrated, anxious, or uncomfortable?
  • What could you believe instead that would make it easier to change?

Remember, any time you go through a change you have to personally believe it is possible. So, the first thing to do if you want to change is to start with yourself.
